We are excited to announce the launch of The Backpack Project, an initiative by The Iwukem Development Foundation (TIDF) aimed at supporting students in Iwukem village with essential school supplies. This project is designed to enhance the educational experience for young learners and provide them with the tools they need to succeed.
Project Details
Printing and Distribution of Exercise Books: We will be printing and distributing 3,000 exercise books to students, ensuring they have ample resources for their academic work.
Backpacks with School Supplies: We will provide 200 backpacks, each filled with essential items including books, pens, pencils, erasers, and sharpeners. These backpacks will be distributed to students in need, supporting their educational journey.
Pilot Schools: The project will initially focus on primary and secondary schools in Iwukem village. This pilot phase will help us gauge the impact and effectiveness of our support in the community.
Key Dates
Consultation with the Village Council of Chiefs: On 26th August 2024, we will engage with the village council to discuss the project details and seek their guidance and support.
Consultation with Schools: On 16th September 2024, we will meet with the selected schools to finalise the distribution plan and ensure that the supplies are tailored to the students’ needs.
Delivery of Supplies: The backpacks and exercise books will be delivered to the schools on 24th September 2024. We are excited to see the positive impact these supplies will have on the students’ learning experiences.
