TIDF Launches The Backpack Project to Support Education in Iwukem Community

The Iwukem Development Foundation (TIDF) is excited to announce the launch of The Backpack Project, a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the educational experience for students in Iwukem village. This project is part of our ongoing commitment to support the educational development of young learners in underserved communities.

Project Overview

The Backpack Project is set to make a meaningful impact by providing essential school supplies to primary and secondary school students in Iwukem village. The project will run from 26th August 2024 to 24th September 2024 and includes the following key components:

•             Exercise Books: TIDF will print and distribute 3,000 exercise books to ensure that students have sufficient materials for their academic activities.

•             Backpacks with School Supplies: 200 backpacks filled with books, pens, pencils, erasers, and sharpeners will be distributed to students. These supplies are crucial for supporting their learning and helping them succeed in school.

Pilot Phase in Iwukem Community

As part of the pilot phase, the project will focus on primary and secondary schools in Iwukem village. This initial rollout will allow us to assess the needs and impact of the project, ensuring that we provide targeted support to the students who need it most.

Key Dates to Watch

•             Consultation with the Village Council of Chiefs: On 26th August 2024, TIDF will meet with the village council to discuss the project’s implementation and seek their support.

•             Consultation with Schools: On 16th September 2024, we will engage with the selected schools to finalise the distribution plan and ensure that the supplies are delivered effectively.

•             Delivery of Supplies: The backpacks and exercise books will be delivered to the schools on 24th September 2024. We are eager to witness the positive impact these supplies will have on the students’ education.
